First you need to understand that Windows 10 is a free upgrade. This upgrade offers the full version of Windows 10, not a trial or limited version.  Which means  that you can run Windows 10 on your specific device for free "for the supported lifetime of your device," according to Microsoft.

But you may still be waiting for your upgrade notification, and maybe wondering Why have I not received ‘ Get Windows 10 app’ notification? Here are some of the reasons why that may not have happened:

  1. Your Windows Update is turned off or is not set to receive updates automatically.
  2. For whatever reasons you may have blocked or uninstalled  the necessary Windows Update functionality.
  3. Your device is not up-to-date with at least Windows 7 SP1 or Windows 8.1 Update.
  4. Finally, Your device is not running genuine Windows.

You will first need to correct these issues . To get help go to Windows Community Forum to get help to fix these issues.

The next concern is What do before upgrading to windows 10? You must determine if your device/s qualifies for the upgrade.
